Route
Starting in Magdeburg, the route heads straight south into the mystical landscape of Harz National Park. Beginning in the east, you will zigzag your way to the west, conquering the highest peaks and passes in the Harz!
After leaving the Harz Mountains at Bad Harzburg and entering the plains of the Magdeburger Börde on your way back to Magdeburg, most of the climbing will be over. However, be prepared for a few additional climbs along the way!

Fair-Play Rules
NAVIGATION
Participants must follow the prescribed route. Anyone who shortcuts will be disqualified. If a participant leaves the route, they must continue from the point where they left it.
LIVE GPS TRACKING
Participants must carry the GPS tracker provided by us at all times. This allows us and others to follow Peaks & Plains on the official website.
SELF-SUFFICIENCY
Peaks & Plains must be completed in full self-sufficiency: food, drinks, equipment, and spare parts must be brought along from the start or purchased along the way. Assistance from third parties is not allowed. This also includes drafting (except for pairs). Accommodations cannot be booked before the start.
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
All participants must behave in an environmentally conscious manner: dispose of waste properly, respect nature, and leave everything as they found it (or better).
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Peaks & Plains takes place on public roads and is NOT closed to traffic. Participants must follow the traffic rules. Helmets and lights are mandatory. Violations of traffic regulations can result in immediate disqualification (e.g. running red lights or crossing closed railway crossings).
RACE CONTROL
These rules cannot foresee every situation. If necessary, we will evaluate the circumstances and make our decision. Any decision made by race control is final.
